18 Weeks

November 24, 2013 in Our Little Cub by Tobi

This week…

Cub is the size of a… sweet potato!  Cub is about five and a half inches long and about six and a half ounces.

My bump is… totally noticeable now.  No missing it.  In the last couple weeks, I’ve had to buy my first maternity clothes and say “so long for now” to my favorite jeans.  It’s totally exciting and completely strange having a bump.  Cub still loves to hang out on one side (the left), so that side is sometimes a bit bigger, but I’m probably (hopefully) the only one who notices.  Plus, I kind of love that little quirk.

Our favorite thing has been…  finally getting to feel Cub wiggle!  It’s still very faint, but I feel little swishes a couple times a day when I’m very still.  We can’t wait for Jake to be able to feel them too!

I have been feeling… a little worn out, but very happy.  They weren’t joking when they said Cub would be going through a growth spurt… I can tell!

I have been craving… nothing still!  Cub makes me ravenously hungry sometimes, but isn’t picky, which makes it pretty easy to eat healthy.  They do love quesadillas, though, and the other day I had a double-double and fries from In-N-Out that were divine!

We are looking forward to… our big anatomy scan ultrasound in a couple of days and the fact that by this time next week we will know if Cub is a boy or girl!  We are so excited to find out the big surprise with our families!

16 Weeks

November 10, 2013 in Our Little Cub by Tobi

This week…

Cub is the size of an… avocado!  Cub is about four and a half inches long and almost four ounces.  We’re told Cub will be going through a growth spurt in the next few weeks and doubling in size!

My bump is… here to stay.  After a few undecided weeks, it seems to be permanently stuck out, but it isn’t always the same.  Sometimes, it even sticks out sort of lopsided!  My doctor says that it’s normal and that we’re going to see a lot of growth between here and 20 weeks.

Our favorite thing has been…  feeling normal!  It sounds sort of boring, but having an uneventful pregnancy for a few weeks has been a welcome change that we are very grateful for!

I have been feeling… great!  Now that I’m back to the gym and feeling less nauseous, I feel almost like a real person again, rather than a zombie.  Our busy schedule sometimes wears me out, but the early bedtime is well worth it.

I have been craving… nothing, really.  I’m trying to eat as healthy as I can now that we’re in the 1 lb per week phase, but I can always improve on that.  My favorite meals this week have been crab ravioli and a mac and cheese grilled cheese sandwich from The Melt!  Also, Ghiradelli brownies are my downfall.

We are looking forward to… Cub’s gender reveal in three weeks!  This one is going to be on the list until it happens.  We are counting down the days.  I can’t be sure yet, but I think I’m starting to feel Cub move around in there.  I can’t wait until that feeling gets stronger.
